You can download the following quick start guides for the most common CAM software
Quick Setup Start Guide for KCAM Software
With this guide you can configure the basic features to run your Mechatronics driver board, this software ONLY works with native parallel port.
If you have a desktop computer and this has no parallel port available you have to install a PCI -parallel bus card on it; but if you have a laptop you cannot control it with KCAM because this software requires the original input/output address of 378, 278 or 3BC and the PCMCIA cards does not work as KCAM needs.
This software is ideal if you are a beginner you can download KCam v4.0.0.36 form their website, also the KCAM manual is available here
Quick Setup Start Guide for Mach2 Software
With this guide you can configure the basic features to run your Mechatronics driver board, this software works with parallel port.
If you have a desktop computer and this has no parallel port available you have to install a PCI -parallel bus card on it; but if you have a laptop and this has no parallel port, do not worry!!, just use a parallel PCMCIA card. In both cases this guide will help you to configure the Mechatronics driver board.
If you have a little more experience with CNC machines, Mach2 software is ideal for you, download a demo version (limited to about 1000 lines of G-code) from their website and the Mach2 Manual
Quick Setup Start Guide for Mach3 Software
